A tenant has allegedly beaten his landlord, James Olufemi Aina, 47, to death.
The incident occurred at Babalola Sukanmi Street, Akesan, near Igando in Alimosho area of Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria.
Investigation revealed that there was a quarrel between the deceased and the tenant and it degenerated into a scuffle.
It was learnt that the late Aina was allegedly pummelled to a state of coma by Emmanuel Okonkwo, 56, who escaped immediately his landlord slumped.
The late Aina’s neighbours and other tenants rushed him to a nearby hospital where doctors confirmed him dead.
Speaking with P.M.NEWS about the incident, the deceased’s elder sister, who identified herself as Mrs. Sanusi, said that in the afternoon last Thursday, she got a call from her brother requesting her to pray for him that he was involved in an accident but that he survived it.
She said her brother had attended a revival in his church the previous night where the pastor prayed for him and he returned home.
Barely 10 minutes after the call, she said Aina’s eldest son called Sunday ran to inform her that his father was in a coma after a brawl with Okonkwo.
On hearing this, she said the pastor, herself and others rushed him to a nearby hospital but he died on the way.
A native of Iloffa in Kwara State, the late Aina is survived by a wife and four children.
