Bomb blast reported at one mechanized division of the Nigerian Army at Kawo, Kaduna State.
A large explosion today rocked a major army base in Kawo Kaduna. Eyewitnesses said that a suicide bomb attack took place at the 1st Mechanised Division.
Soldiers have since cordoned off the scene of the explosion barring civilians and reporters from getting close.
Unconfirmed reports said the explosions were the handiwork of a suicide bomber, who infiltrated the division.
Entry and exit points in the division were shut imediately the explosions were heard, spreading fear and uncertainty.
However, some witnesses said the military were detonating old bombs and shut entry and exit points in the division.
