Governor Ajimobi denies wife’s arrest In London,To Take Legal Action

Controversy swirled around the Oyo State’s government yesterday when news filtered around the media that the governor’s wife had been arrested in LondonThe Government while denying the allegation promply slammed a N1billion suit against the evening newspaper. The Governor’s wife yesterday evening spoke from London denying that she had been arrested.
No mention was made, however, of when the suit was filed and who their lawyer is. Special Adviser on Media to Governor, Dr. Festus Adedayo.disclosed the filing of the suit yesterday
According to the release, the government of Oyo State had the responsibility to ensure that the media does not become an instrument in the hands of blackmailers for such acts. “We want to state unequivocally that this report is not only wicked, it is the figment of the imagination of the writers. Mrs. Ajimobi was never arrested for any offence whatsoever.
“Even though our investigations have shown that this is the work of some arrowheads of the opposition, it was done in such an amateurish way that beats the imagination of any responsible reader,” the release said. The government said that though it had a lot of respect for the media, there was the need to drag the runners of these media to court to explain the details of their reports to the rest of the world.
Meanwhile the governor’s wife reportedly spoke from London, saying the report was concocted by political opponents of her husband. Mrs Ajimobi, said; “I don’t know what they are talking about; I don’t know where they got the information from. I left Nigeria on Sunday and I was not arrested. I don’t know where they got that information from.
“No, I was not arrested by police. I came back with my daughter on Sunday. Now I am getting ready to come back home. I had not been invited by the police and I don’t know what all this is about.”
Explaining further, She said, “I have a 14-year-old daughter who has been there for seven years. She has been here since 2007. She came to Nigeria for two weeks; we left Nigeria Sunday morning. That is my mission here”. Asked if she knew about the story, she answered in affirmative.
“I read the report here in England. I was shocked. I read it but there is no iota of truth in everything they wrote. I’m sure it is opposition and I am surprised that some people can descend so low to write falsehood.” According to her, the writer of the story pandered to the dictates of some people and allowed himself to be used.
She also denied the allegation that her current trip was the 52nd time she traveled since her husband assumed office as the governor of the state. She responded, saying, “It then means I am not living in Nigeria then. Maybe, when I travel back, I will show you my passport to count how many times I have traveled,” she said .
“I have an underage daughter that has been schooling in London since 2007. If you look at my passport since 2007 and compare the way I traveled then with the way I travel now, you will discover that I travel less now”, she explained.
“My daughter is complaining that I am not regular there. I make her come to Nigeria more because I can’t afford to spend 10 days or more over there.”

BREAKING NEWS :Oyo State governor's wife, Florence Ajimobi arrested in the Uk by Metropolitan Police for being in possession of £400,000 on her 52nd trip to UK, in 17months.

Junketing wife of the Oyo State governor, Chief (Mrs) Florence Ajimobi, has finally jumped into the net of London police authorities. Her offence: she was found in possession of Pound Sterling and United States Dollars totalling N500million about two weeks ago. Mrs Ajimobi was arrested by the Met Police during her 52nd trip outside Nigeria in the last 17 months that her husband became the chief executive of the Pace-Setter state. The development came barely a few months after Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State was arrested also in London on money laundering charges and was held for about 26 days in the United Kingdom. Governor Abiola Ajimobi has equally been out of the country for about 42 times on personal and official trips that have cost the people of the state fortunes in estacode and denied them the opportunity of a responsible government during times of sorrow, like the August 26, 2011 flood disaster that ravaged the state.

The governor’s wife was held for a few days in London before she telephoned her husband who immediately flew out to the United Kingdom to save his wife and his administration from the embarrassment that the arrest could cause. NEWSLEAK gathered that the governor had to stand surety for his wife before she was temporarily released the weekend on her arrest. To ensure that the news does not get to public domain, Governor Ajimobi had to lie that he was travelling to Taiwan for “an emergency business trip”, and headed for London to stand surety for his wife. Met police authorities accept the surety-ship of a sitting high profile government official in cases of money laundering without which Mrs Ajimobi would have been declared wanted and Interpol sent after her. When Mrs Ajimobi returned to Nigeria two Sundays ago, she avoided public gathering, never honoured any invitation and cancelled all previous appointments.

A community newspaper in London published the news of Mrs Ajimobi’s arrest with her picture lavishly used by the local daily. NEWSLEAK is making effort to get the photograph and use same on this website. According to investigations, Mrs Ajimobi is literally the human bank in charge of funds illegally deducted from the 33 local government councils in the state as well as the N110million security monthly security vote of her husband. Rumours that Mrs Ajimobi is the courier for public funds running into billions of Naira allegedly stolen so far by the Action Congress of Nigeria-led government in the last 17months were reinforced by the several contracts awarded to Mrs Ajimobi, including the poorly executed beautification project given to her for N1billion of taxpayers’ money. In addition, she has appropriated the State Action Committee on AIDS (SACA), which was hitherto under the purview of the Ministry of Health to her office and through this, she is sitting upon the $15million-Dollar World Bank funds released early this year for the control of AIDS in the state.

To wriggle out of money laundering and sundry charges against Mrs Ajimobi, her husband has engaged the service of three Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs) led by Chief Wole Olanipekun. Following the expiration of the week-long bail granted Mrs Ajimobi to prepare her legal team as the case will be charged t court soon, she left the country for London early on Sunday, October 28 (that is yesterday). Governor Ajimobi, it was scoped, has been running from pillar to post for face-saving strategies against the damning incident. He was said to have expressed determination to pay any price quoted by anyone that could be of help in preventing the scandal from becoming public knowledge as well as getting the “greedy wife” off the hook.

The governor, will be travelling out of the country this week to stand by her wife. It was also gathered that the senior lawyers are on their way out of the country for the legal fireworks in defence of Mrs Ajimobi.

Hurricane sandy hits New York

"Every day this goes on you're seeing combined losses to the airlines of roughly $10 million," said Simon Calder, travel editor of the UK's The Independent newspaper.

Water pours over cars in Manhattan as superstorm Sandy flooded large parts of the island on Monday, October 29. 2012. The storm surge from Sandy set records in lower Manhattan, where flooded substations caused a widespread power outage. <a href='http://www.cnn.com/2012/10/29/us/gallery/ny-braces-sandy/index.html'>View photos of New York bracing for impact.</a>
New York City had shut its mass transit system, schools, the stock exchange, Broadway and most bridges and ordered hundreds of thousands of residents to leave home to get out of the way of Sandy as it zeroed in on the coast.
By evening, a record 13-foot storm surge flooded Manhattan's southern tip, howling winds had left a crane hanging from a high-rise and utilities deliberately darkened part of downtown Manhattan to avoid storm damage.
"It's really a complete ghost town now," said Stephen Weisbrot, from a powerless 10th-floor apartment in lower Manhattan.
Water lapped over the seawall in Battery Park City, flooding rail yards, subway tracks, tunnels and roads. Rescue workers floated bright orange rafts down flooded downtown streets, while police officers rolled slowly down the street with loudspeakers telling people to go home.

'Have sex or die!' - Gunman holds couple hostage

A man wearing a security guard uniform stormed into the hotel room of businessman Prosper Mkwaiwa and his wife Tina - and ordered them to make love in front of him or face the barrel.

After dilly-dallying, the two were shot in their right legs and were rushed to Legae Medi-Clinic in Mabopane, north of Pretoria, where they are recuperating. The incident happened at the Morula Sun Casino in Mabopane on Friday night.
Speaking from his hospital bed, Mkwaiwa says he was lying on the bed in the hotel room waiting for Tina, who was with her friends in another room. He says after a few minutes Tina waltzed into the room with another man wearing a security uniform. "I thought the guy was escorting her because he followed her into the room but I was wrong," he says. Mkwaiwa says the man closed the door, drew his firearm and ordered Tina to lie prostrate on the cold floor. He said the man, speaking both isiZulu and Sepedi, pointed the gun at him and told him he was going to kill him and his wife and then turn the gun on himself.
"I asked him 'what is the problem? Do you want money? Tell us so we can sort you out and you can leave us alone'. "He then took the magazine out and said 'you see I'm removing other bullets from the magazine and only three will remain in it. One is for you, one for her and one for me'. "I pleaded with him not kill us and tell us what it is that we had done to him.
"He simply said 'I know who you are, guys, that's why I came here for you'," says Mkwaiwa, who is sporting a shiner. Tina, who was lying on a bed next to her hubby's at the hospital, interjected: "He said 'I want you guys to make love in front of me'. Imagine me undressing and making love to my husband in front of him! I was so scared. That man is sick upstairs. Why would somebody do that to us? We don't have enemies," she said, crying hysterically. Mkwaiwa, who was staring into the air as Tina was relating her version, also interrupted: "You know this man held us hostage for about an hour as we pleaded with him not to kill us.
"But as I was talking to him he kept on moving the gun from his left hand to his right one and then from the right to left one. It's like it was too heavy for him.
"When he repeated that we should make love in front of him, I jumped and grabbed the hand that was holding the gun. A bullet went out and hit her in the leg. He then turned the gun towards me and shot me twice in my right leg," he says, grimacing.
Mkwaiwa says he eventually wrenched the gun from the assailant. "He then hit the glass door with his head and disappeared. "I'm glad I rescued my wife and we are both alive. "You can imagine what could have happened if I hadn't grabbed the gun from him. He would have probably shot and killed us," he says. Mkwaiwa says they were rushed to the clinic in an ambulance called by the hotel management.

Xclusive: LASTMA Impounds Obasanjo’s Vehicle

A ‘cold war’ appears to brewing between former President Olusegun Obasanjo and the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, following the confiscation of a utility vehicle belonging to Obasanjo Farms.
This is coming as the protest against the Lagos State Road Traffic Law by commercial motorcyclists (popularly called Okada) Tuesday spread to other parts of the metropolis, leaving at least one bus belonging to LAGBUS Asset Management Limited damaged.
Also, pandemonium erupted Tuesday at the Alakuko area of the state, following the alleged killing of a commercial motorcyclist, and injuring another by one of the policemen allegedly attached toMr. Babatunde Fashola
However, it was gathered that the Obasanjo Farms vehicle was impounded by officials of the state Transport Management Agency (LASTMA) over the weekend, for contravening the traffic law.
Though Obasanjo was alleged to have made efforts to get the vehicle released, which proved abortive, the action was, however, said to have led to the forceful seizure of 10 LAG buses, which were alleged to have been taken into the premises of Obasanjo Farms between last week Friday and Sunday.
However, effort to get the Chief Executive of LASTMA, Mr. Young Arabamen, to comment on the development proved abortive as his secretary said he was in a meeting.

If A Bra Is Worth $2.5 Million, Is It Still A Bra...+ PHOTOS

Bra worth $2.5 million unveiled by Victoria's Secret model Alessandra Ambrosio
Lingerie maker Victoria's Secret unveils its ultimate Christmas present - a custom made bra valued at $2.5 million adorned with 5200 precious gems.

Last week it was leaked that Brazilian super Alessandra Ambrosio would be the heavenly body to model Victoria's Secret's jewel-encrusted lingerie at this year's upcoming catwalk extravaganza, and now we can see what the multi-million dollar set looks like.

Each year, a chosen Angel dons a one-off, custom-made 'Fantasy Bra' to close the much-publicised show. Last year the honour was given to Miranda Kerr, but this time Ambrosio will take up the gauntlet just seven months after the birth of her second child, a son named Noah.
The $2.5m (£1.55m) bra, unveiled in New York, has 5200 precious gems on it, including a 20 carat diamond and huge ruby.

Named the 'Floral Fantasy' set, the bra and matching belt have been created by Long Island's London Jewelers.

"It's so unique you know it's this piece of art that you get to wear and it has over 5000 precious gems so you just have all these diamonds around and you have this 20 carat diamond right here. It feels amazing to wear," Ms Ambrosio said.
Abeg o... If a bra is worth $2.5million, is it still a bra? I don't think so. Abi if you are wearing a bra worth that amount, will you not want other people to see it? Will you cover it with cloth like the normal bra?
What do you think?

FAAN Awards Dana Air, Best Domestic Carrier

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has awarded the operators of the ill fated 3rd June 2012 Boeing MD-80 plane, Dana Air, the best domestic carrier for 2011.
The Regional General Manager of FAAN, Mr. Christopher Batoure, while presenting the award to the Abuja Station Manager, Dana Air Mr. Kayode Adeniro, said, the airline did extremely well amongst all domestic carriers in 2011 hence the need for the award. .
Batoure said, “They were selected as the best considering their passenger load, the frequency of their landings and take offs and their response to payment of bills in 2011. They had the best volume, they were punctual in their operations, and they had an excellent service discharge.”
The manager said the event was not pre planned following the air mishap recently witnessed by the airline and the fact that there only just recently got back their license to commence operations, rather the award was an encouragement to them to be at their best again.
He said, “We did not plan it. We would have held the award earlier this year but could not because of the massive remodelling of the airport, which required the attention of everyone involved. But in all fairness they did their best and we need to recognize that and encourage them to get back to their feet.”
During a press session, the Dana Air station manager said besides the regrettable tragedy, Dana was giving the best services to its customers.
According to him, “The air disaster involving our aircraft was unfortunate. In aviation world as a whole you cannot rule out accidents but we thank God that the black box which is currently being investigated by the Boeing Company in America will soon tell what actually happened.”
He said that the airline will overtake the standard it has already set as soon as it done with the present fight and gets permission from the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).

Meet World’s Oldest Dad Fathers Second Baby at 96 | Says he “does it 3 to 4 times a night”

He was first awarded the title at the age of 94 when he had his first born son. Now at 96, India’s Ramjit Raghav has become the world’s oldest father for the second time at the age of 96.
The pensioner and his 54 year-old wife, Shakuntala welcomed another son Ranjit, last month.
He told Daily Mail that doctors at the hospital did not believe he was the father. “They just laughed but they were very surprised.”
What makes his story even more interesting is his very active sex life and the fact that his wife also attests to it. According to his wife, he can make love like a 25 year-old man.
Ramjit admits that as proud as he is of having two healthy sons at his age and that his neighbours are jealous of his sex drive.
“I do it three or four times a night. My neighbours are jealous and they keep asking me for my secret but all I tell them is that it is God’s will. I’m healthy and I enjoy sex with my wife. I think it’s very important for a husband and wife to have sex regularly and when she asks I will go on all night but for the sake of my child I’ve put our needs aside for now.”

He claims that a daily diet of almonds, butter and milk kept him sexually active.
Before he met his wife, he said he had been a widower for 25 years. They met 22 years ago on a rainy morning at a Muslim shrine. Ramjit asked her to come home with him and she has never left. He said he took her under his wing, taught her some yoga and they fell in love. “Many of my past girlfriends had died so I had never married and then I asked Shakuntala to be my wife. She didn’t have any family or friends around, and I wanted to help her,” he explains.
Shakuntala believes she would have been dead by now if it was not for Ramjit’s caring ways.
She said: “It doesn’t matter how old he is, I love him and I care for him dearly even, though he shouts at me sometimes. He doesn’t seem old to me, he can make love like any 25-year-old man, even better because he can go on all night, and he makes a wonderful father.”
Wow, what an interesting couple.

Nigerian Singer,St Janet Caught Husband Sleeping With Her Daughter

These are indeed sad times for lewd female singer, Omotoyosi Kayode Iyun, popularly called St. Janet as her two-year oldmarriage is on the verge of crashing.

The highly sought-after live performer caused a big stir when she made a debut with her album entitled Faaji Plus. Interestingly, the controversial album instantly became a talking-point and an object of scorn from the church podium to the lawmakers’ chambers yet sold like a hot cake. While it was banned on radio and many homes, however at street corners and beer parlours, her songs still blare with gusto.

But inspite of her musical success, St. Janet’s happiness on the home front is fast turning into nightmares barely two months after marrying her heartthrob, Olukayode Samuel Iyun who incidentally is her band manager.

We gathered that the stocky built singer has packed out of her matrimonial home following a shocking discovery by her about her husband sleeping with one of her daughters. The girl (name withheld) from St. Janet’s previous marriage was reported to have spent the last holiday with her mother and step-father at their Ilapo Estate, Alagbado home.

St. Janet was said to be happy at the opportunity of being reunited with her daughter who was before then staying with one of her relations.

Unfortunately, her joy soon turned into despair as rumours started making the rounds about an amorous relationship between her daughter and her husband. All doubts about her suspicion were cleared recently when she allegedly caught her husband making love to her daughter whose age was put around 16 right inside her matrimonial home.

Sources close to the musician told our correspondent that the despicable act had thrown St. Janet off-balance and dejected and swore never to forgive Kay as her husband is fondly called.

The development has forced the lewd singer to move out of her matrimonial home as she could not bear the shame which the incident had brought upon her.

It was also disclosed that St. Janet has temporarily moved to Esado Hotel within the neighbourhood to fend off contact with Kay.

To say St. Janet is enraged by the ugly incident is to say the least, she is completely devastated as she reportedly cancelled all engagements for about two weeks ostensibly to recover from the rude shock.

Close relatives of the self-acclaimed General Overseer of St. Bottles Cathedral told our correspondent that the singer has since come to terms with the fact that her husband is a betrayer afterall and she has started treating him as such.

For those close to the couple, it is no longer news that St. Janet is her husband’s benefactor since they started dating over 12years ago. She is reported to have lavished money and materials on him all in a bid to sustain the relationship.

To further demonstrate her love, she reportedly opened a music studio for him along AIT Road but she has since driven out of the studio.

Though frantic moves are currently being made by both families to settle the matter but St. Janet is reportedly holding out as she pleaded for time to get over the matter before she can entertain a possible reconciliation.

Omotoyosi, as St. Janet is called by her parents, met her hubby 12 years ago in Abeokuta, Ogun State and the relationship is already blessed with a year old son, Orinayo Michael.

After frantic efforts to speak with the lewd singer about the story failed, one of the musician’s close aides debunked the story and described it as mere rumour. “I can tell you categorically that the story is just a rumour perpetrated by the grapevines. Although, there was a little misunderstanding between them but the grudges have no connection with infidelity,” the aide who would not want his name mentioned in the print told our correspondent.

Buttocks Injection Leaves Woman with No Legs

buttock injection live woman with no leg

Teased by her family and friends about her flat “pancake” booty, Apryl Michelle Brown had always been insecure about her backside. Once she got enough money, she told herself, she’d buy herself a better one.
“I didn’t know if I wanted to look like Janet Jackson or J. Lo,” the Los Angeles cosmetologist, 46, says in an exclusive interview featured in the November issue of ESSENCE magazine. “I just wanted a new, bigger booty.”Pls click to continue reading. Btw, thats the woman up there.
Tragically, her quest for curves cost her all her limbs and almost her life. In 2004, Brown says she paid a “pumper,” an unlicensed person, to inject industrial-grade silicone into her
buttocks. Brown can’t recall how much the woman actually charged — maybe $500, maybe $1,000 — but over time, she says, the area became intensely irritated and painful, and the skin blackened. By early 2006 she says the silicone had hardened, causing severe pain and infection, ultimately requiring her to have lifesaving amputation of her limbs last year.
Now adjusting to her new life with prosthesis, Brown shares her story — and her warning for others tempted to check out “pumping parties” — with writer Amy Elisa Keith in ESSENCE. “I was left here for a purpose,” she says. “I have to get the word out so that nobody else makes this mistake

Dino Melaye Is A Potential HIV Carrier, He Gave Me Syphilis--Upcoming Actress Alleges

The 'dirty water' controversial former Kogi State federal lawmaker, Dino Melaye may have found himself swimming in has taken a new turn. If what we are now getting is anything to go by, then, more troubles await the husband of Tokunbo Melaye. This is because the 'activist' has now been dragged into another controversy, which may be messier than the pregnancy mess he is in with beautiful Yoruba actress, Bisi Ibidapo Obe.

According to what BON reported, an up and coming Yoruba actress has accused the father of three of infecting her with a sexually transmitted disease called Syphilis. She also alleged Dino to be a potential carrier of the dreaded STD called HIV.

BON reported that a budding actress (name withheld) sent a mail to them. A copy of the mail is presented below.

"My name is ——–, I am an upcoming actress and I have featured in over 20 Yoruba films mostly as waka about. Last year, I met one of the big names in the industry who lives in Magodo and she became my friend and we were relating on sister basis. She was very nice to me and she even gave me a role in her movie directed by Muyideen and shot in Omole Estate.

On my birthday last year (2011), she (the big actress) used my picture on her bb (BlackBerry) and Hon. Dino saw it and begged that she hooked us up. She did but told me plain that she was not asking me to date him that the choice was mine.

Hon Dino started wooing me, he will call for long hours and he changed my phone and at one instance gave me 250,000 to change my wardrobe. I asked Hon. Melaye if he was married and he said he was seperated as he caught his wife in
bed with another man in his matrimonial home.

One thing about Dino is that he hates CD (condom) and the first time we Were Intimate, we argued for over 2hours as I said no to unprotected sex but after some sweet talks, I agreed and we continue like that. It didn't take long before I started feeling funny and when I told my sister, who was a doctor, she ran some tests on me and told me I had Syphilis.

I picked my phone and told Dino. This was the last time he picked my calls and he deleted me from his bbm. If he denies this, I will send you at least 3 of our hotel receipts bearing his name. I am out
because I know that there are more greedy girls like me and the rate at which Dino is going, he is a potential HIV carrier. Dino is very smooth and lies come to him easily.

Man dies after winning cockcroach-eating contest

Edward Archbold was among those in a contest at a Deerfield Beach reptile store. He won a python after eating dozens of cockroaches and worms, a sheriff's office says Archbold later fell ill, collapsed and was pronounced dead at a southeast Florida hospital The store says participants signed waivers, insects were "safely and domestically raised"

A 32-year-old man downed dozens of roaches and worms to win a python at a Florida reptile store, then collapsed and died outside minutes later.

Edward Archbold was among 20 to 30 contestants participating in Friday night's "Midnight Madness" event at Ben Siegel Reptiles in Deerfield Beach, authorities said. The participants' goal: consume as many insects and worms as they could to take home a $850 python. Archbold swallowed roach after roach, worm after worm. While the store didn't say exactly how many Archbold consumed, the owner told CNN affiliate WPLG that he was "the life of the party."

"He really made our night more fun," Ben Siegel told the station.

Soon after the contest was over, Archbold fell ill and began to vomit, the Broward County Sheriff's Office said Monday. A friend called for medical help. Then, Archbold himself dialed 911, the store said in a Facebook post. Eventually, he fell to the ground outside the store, the sheriff's office said. An ambulance took him to North Broward Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The Broward Medical Examiner's Office conducted an autopsy and are awaiting test results to determine the cause of his death.

No other contestant fell ill, the sheriff's office said.
"Very saddened by this. I mean, it was a shock," Siegel told WPLG. "Eddie was a very nice guy. We just met him that night, but everybody that works here was very fond of him."
Luke Lirot, who says he is legally representing the store, said in a post on the store's Facebook page that all participants "signed thorough waivers accepting responsibility for their participation in this unique and unorthodox contest."

"The consumption of insects is widely accepted throughout the world, and the insects presented as part of the contest were taken from an inventory of insects that are safely and domestically raised in a controlled environment as food for reptiles," Lirot said.

In the wild, cockroaches are scavengers that pick up various bacterial organisms such as salmonella while walking through spoiled food, the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene explains on its website.
Cockroaches themselves don't transmit disease, though "many disease-causing organisms can grow and multiply in their guts and can then be deposited ... during defecation."
Pharaoh Gayles was one of those who took part in the contest. He explained his reasoning to CNN affiliate WPTV.

"Some of the snakes were pretty expensive," he said. "I thought if I could eat the bugs to get one, it'd be a good idea."

13-Year-Old Boy Shoots Grandparents For Calling His Mother A Whore

A 13-year-old fatally shot his grandparents in their home because he was upset that they called his mother a whore and "were speaking poorly about her," state police said in charges filed Tuesday.
Zachary James Proper, of Oil City, was charged with criminal homicide for the weekend shootings of Dorothy and George Fross.

According to the criminal complaint by troopers in northwestern Pennsylvania, Proper's parents, Ryan and Karen Kapp, called Oil City police Monday night because they were concerned that their son had gotten drunk and high on Sunday night and had stolen a car belonging to his grandparents. The Kapps called police because they could not reach the Frosses by phone and because Proper told them that "his friend had shot and killed his grandparents," the complaint said.

The Oil City police chief went to the Frosses' home and questioned the boy, who acknowledged shooting his grandparents, authorities said. The state police were eventually called because they have jurisdiction in the township where the grandparents lived about 70 miles north of Pittsburgh.

The boy has been arraigned by a district judge in Franklin and ordered held without bond, which is standard in Pennsylvania homicide cases. The Associated Press left messages with his parents and Neil Rothschild, an attorney apparently representing the family.

According to state police, the boy said he was visiting his grandparents on Sunday afternoon and that his grandfather had gotten a four-wheeler out of the barn for him before leaving to go to the store and get pizza. Once in the barn, the boy told investigators he saw a pair of bolt cutters, which he used to cut a lock off his grandfather's gun safe and took out a handgun.

The boy told police he "walked up behind his grandmother, put his iPod earphones in, pointed the gun at his grandmother about shoulder height, turned his head away and raised the gun slightly and shot her," the complaint said.

After shooting the woman, Proper called his grandfather and told him he'd help him carry in items from the store when he returned. When that happened about 10 minutes later, the boy took the pizza from his grandfather before shooting him in the shoulder. After the man went down and yelled, Proper "indicated that he then `dumped the gun until it jammed' meaning that he kept shooting his grandpa," the complaint said.

Asked to explain the shootings, the boy told police "that he was mad at his grandparents because they had called his mother a whore and were speaking poorly about her." Police didn't explain the context of those remarks or provide further details.

THE protest organised by the South-South/South-East branch of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), on Tuesday, had left Umuokiri-Aluu a ghost town.
It will be recalled that the NANS-led protest, after dispersing from the East-West Road, where they mounted a blockade on Tuesday morning, headed for Umuokiri-Aluu, the community where four students of the University of Port Harcourt were killed, setting fire on the valuables they could reach.
The attack saw residents, including indigenes and tenants, fleeing for safety, leaving the community deserted.  Students of the University of Port Harcourt were also seen leaving the area.
The community was, however, filled with presence of security units and some of the people whose property were vandalised. A truck load of mobile policemen was spotted at one location near the scene of the killings, while over 50 other armed operatives of the Joint Task Force (JTF), Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), State Security Service (SSS) and policemen were seen moving round the town.
Meanwhile, five persons, who were seen near the spot where the students were killed in Umuokiri were arrested by security operatives on Wednesday.

Teen sells mom's jewels for prostitute visit at brothel

A 14-year-old German teenager took his mother's jewellery worth about R30,000 and pawned it for R3,000 to finance two trips to a brothel for himself and a friend.
Karlsruhe police spokesman Ralf Minet said the teenager's mother is pressing charges of theft against her son, who admitted he pawned the jewellery to pay for the prostitutes.
"We don't know what the mother's motives are for pressing charges," Minet said. "It's possible she wants to teach him a lesson or it's possible that she felt she had lost control."
Police are also investigating the brothel that the boys said they visited. Prostitution in Germany is legal but the clients must be aged 18 or over. The operator of the brothel told police they had sent the boys away because they were under-age.

EXCLUSIVE : MUST READ: Rape… And The Hurt ( Parts 1 & 2 )

“What would you do, when the one you hate the most is the one you love?”
I remember very clearly that day that ruined my life, the day I’d for ever curse. The 26th of July, 2008.
I was having my 2nd semester exams. There was this ‘cramming rush’. LOL. Read as hard as you can and forget every single thing once you drop your pen. I decided to study in the school library, my room mates weren’t even catching the exam fever. The three of them were busy talking about the party they were going for that night and all the other dirty details. Such raw, un-tamed girls!

“Amy, Titi, Grace, I’m going to read. I’d see you guys in the evening.” Amy and Titi nodded.
Grace, with her ibo – filled accent, shouted, “So ya not going for the pool party ehn? You’re so uptight! Na you kill Jesus? Abi wetin?” I played the ‘deaf and dumb’ role at that moment and left the room. Lord have mercy!
The library was a 20 minutes walk from my hostel so I didn’t bother taking a bike. I got there at exactly 5pm. Goodness me! I had loads of books to read! I remember flipping some pages before dozing off….
I raised my head, still dizzy. Everywhere was pitch-black! I shouted, “Hello!” and all I heard was the echo of my own voice. It was then it dawned on me, I was the only one left in the library. Damn, it was 11:30pm!

I packed my books hurriedly and raced out of the library. My heart was in my mouth. The thought of being outside at that ungodly hour, in a place that was known for crime and the sorts, sent shivers down my spine. My heart was dancing in my chest. I ran as fast as I could!
I was passing a bush path, just a stone throw from my hostel when I felt two big, rough hands on my shoulders. Before I could even think of screaming, he covered my mouth and slapped me senseless. I was dragged into the bush, almost lifeless, gagged and blindfolded.
I never saw his face, but I do remember him taking away my virginity, forcing himself into me with all the brutality you can ever think of.
My name is Gbemi and I was raped at 18.
…………………………………………………..

I lived with the memory of that night throughout my university days. Nightmares… Recalling the way I was dragged with my hair, and stripped me of my innocence. His drunken voice, telling me to be quiet. His big hands, fondling my breasts wickedly, forcing my legs apart. He tore my thigh deeply with his knife as he was trying to rip off my jeans. I remember it all…
Its been six years since then. With the help of God and my family, I gradually got over the incident. I’ve dated a number of guys, and I showed them ‘hell’ ! I vowed never to let any man touch me, never to get married…. Till I met Tade.

We worked in the same department at a bank here in Abuja. I initially tried all I could to avoid him, because I noticed I always had tingles in my belly anytime our eyes locked. He would smile and I’d blush. Very odd feeling. I knew I was falling in love. *sigh* I convinced myself that it was going to pass… But it didn’t, so I let all my fears fly away.
Tade was everything a lady could ever wish for. Handsome, wonderful sense of humour… I had never felt so loved in my entire life. He was very reserved, always respecting my views and choices. He never asked me for sex, never even made an attempt to. I loved this man fiercely! I wanted to have his children, I loved him too much…
But there was something about Tade I couldn’t quite place a finger on. I knew something was wrong but I didn’t know what it was.

Sometimes, I’d catch him staring at me with a confused look. I thought it was just the normal “pre-wedding fever” as we were getting married soon.
I was wrong…
Our wedding was glamorous. It worked out as planned, was even better. The joy in my heart when he said “I DO” was inexplicable! The remaining parts of wedding were just blurs to me, all I was thinking about was our wedding night. I still had not had sex, I was nervous.
Yes, after all the partying, we went to our new home. We were quite tired, sure. But as expected, your wedding night shouldn’t be a night to sleep. Our’s was very eventful.
He carried me to our room. My heart was pounding. I remember him looking me in the eyes, telling me he loved me. He was undressing me, nobody spoke. For the first time in my life I saw a naked man. I was quite alarmed by the size of his manhood. OMG!!
He laid me on the bed, kissing me. Flashes of that night flooded back. I had to tell him, I just had to. I was about to speak when he suddenly froze.

“What’s wrong?” No reply. His eyes widened as he touched the scars on my right thigh. “Tade?” All he said was, “Where did you get those scars? How? When?” I started stammering, “I… I’ve always wanted to tell you, but I didn’t know how. I was raped a long time ago. Tade? Please….” I told him everything.
Tade was crying. I felt stupid. I started begging him, I wanted to touch him, but he was moving away. And alas, he said these words that I’d never forget, “I’m sorry Gbemi. I’m so sorry, why did it have to be you? Karma has cut me deeply. Why did it have to be you?” I didn’t understand what he meant. “Shhh! What are you saying?” He knelt on the floor, amidst tears, he said, “It was me, it was meee! I was a drunkard and a rapist. It was me. You were the only one I cut with that knife. I remember clearly, I’m not …..”

I didn’t hear the rest. My world came crashing down before my very eyes. I passed out on that spot.
As I speak, I’m in a psychiatric ward. They think I’m insane because all I shout all day is,
“What would you do, when the one you hate the most is the one you love?”

Malawi president takes pay cut 'in solidarity with the poor'

Country is battling starvation due to many years of bad financial management but new leader Joyce Banda is showing her determination to 'lead from the front' by voluntarily cutting her own salary by 30%.
MALAWI’s President Joyce Banda says more austerity lies in store for her long-suffering citizens before the country’s economy recovers. She is slashing her salary in the belief she should share their pain.
She inherited a mess last April when she was propelled into office after the sudden death of her predecessor, Bingu wa Mutharika.
"When I took over, the economy had almost collapsed. I told Malawians we needed to pass through difficult times," Ms Banda said in an interview yesterday with BD Live. At the weekend, she announced: "I even cut my own salary by 30% to show we are making sacrifices".
Her salary is $60,000 a year (about R480,000). When it declines to $42,000 (R340,000) it will be equivalent to what a mid -level South African civil servant earns.
"It is a very low salary, but most Malawians are getting just as little as that. So that’s fine, we have a nation to build. Perhaps the next president will get better than that," she said.
Her first task as president had been to repair relations with former colonial power Britain and other key donors such as the International Monetary Fund, she said.
Donors "have provided $208m in the last six or seven weeks. That only happened because we got back on track with the IMF".
"Malawi is standing at a point now where we know the future is bright"
Malawi’s deposits of uranium, oil and gas, bauxite, coal, phosphates and rare earths are attracting interest. The government is drafting a mining code to ensure the resources benefit the population as well.
"We didn’t know we were that rich, but we know now," she said in a keynote speech yesterday at an African investment conference organised by Nedbank and its Togo-based partner, Ecobank, reported by BD Live.
However, in the short-term, Malawi needs to introduce more austerity measures, she said.
"I believe in the circumstances we do not have another choice," she said.
