We have reports coming in that the National Executive Council of ASUU meeting in Abuja today has resolved to suspend the on-going strike action.
The National Executive Council (NEC) of the Academhttp://www.blogger.com/post-create.g?blogID=8619725414683897543ic Staff of Universities Union (ASUU), on Wednesday, suspended the two-month old strike embarked upon by the Union.
It will be recalled that the Union went on strike on December 4 to protest the non-implementation of the 2009 agreement between ASUU and the Federal Government.
The NEC also instructed lecturers to resume at their duty posts immediately.
The Union also said they will not relent in their efforts to rescue the educational system by pressing home the demands necessary at all times.
ASUU NIGERIA tweeted this:
“We want to thank you all for the understanding thus far. All lecturers are to resume immediately. ASUU will not relent on her efforts to rescue the educational system by pressing home the demands necessary at all times.”
