Nollywood’s It girl Genevieve Nnaji has been cast in the big screen adaptation of Chimamanda Adichie’s award winning novel “Half of a Yellow Sun”. According to media reports, the actress will play the role of Ms Adebayo, a professor who develops a relationship with a workmate.
She joins an elite cast comprising of Chiwetel Ejiofor, Anika Noni Rose and Thandie Newton in the Nigerian civil war biopic.
The film will be produced by the same team behind “The Last King of Scotland” and “The Constant Gardener”, mainly BAFTA winner Andrea Egan and Gail Egan respectively. Nigerian playwright Biyi Bandele will helm the film in his first directorial debut.
