Horror: 14 year old boy shoots his mother dead as she slept.

A 14-year-old boy, Joshua Smith, in the early hours of Monday morning, shot his mother, 36 year old Tamiko Robinson, at least ten times as she slept on the couch, his uncle told reporters after the teenager was arrested.

The teen, from east Detroit, was said to be angry that his mother had tried to keep him off the streets and away from a gang.

Smith's uncle LeShaun Roberts, told Fox Detroit News the teen had wanted to 'hang with the big boys' - gang members in their twenties - but when his mother said no he ran away to relatives. But Robinson, a dialysis patient, who was battling lupus, went after her son and insisted he came home, angering the youngster.

Joshua's five-year-old sister and step dad, were in the home at the time and were forced to jump out of a low window to escape the gunfire.

Court Tout Frees Prisoners With Fake Papers

Operatives of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, FSARS, at Adeniji Adele Road, Lagos Island, Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria, have arrested and arraigned a suspected court tout for freeing three suspected criminals from Ikoyi Prison.
The man identified as Fashola Oladele was arraigned before a Tinubu Magistrate’s Court on a three-count charge of felony to wit, forgery of reproduction warrants of Igbosere Magistrate’s Court 15 to release three suspected criminals who were standing trial for unlawful possession of fire arms.
Police investigation revealed that the bubble burst for the accused when he was arrested following the discovery by the magistrate in charge of Court 15 at Igbosere Magistrate’s Court that three suspects, namely Nuru Owolabi, Adigun Shoyinka and Gbenga Akinpelu, who were remanded in prison on the order of the magistrate for unlawful possession of firearms, were not coming to court from prison to attend court proceedings.
When the magistrate sought to know why the accused persons were not coming to court, the prosecutor allegedly told the magistrate that the accused had been released with documents bearing Lagos High Court and that he did not know anything about it.
Piqued by the development, the magistrate was said to have ordered the prosecutor to produce the said documents before her.
On careful scrutiny, the magistrate was said to have discovered that her signature and the court’s stamp had been perfectly forged to carry out the act.
She reportedly observed that her signature which is usually in capital letters was forged with smaller letters, while the court stamp which is blue was black on the documents.
She subsequently directed the prosecutor to produce the prison warder who received and signed the documents.
When the warder was confronted with the documents, he allegedly mentioned the name of Fashola Oladele as the person who presented the documents from Ikoyi Magistrate’s Court on behalf of the court. It was gathered that Oladele allegedly identified himself as a court official.
The magistrate directed the prison warder to produce the said Oladele before her.
When he was questioned about the documents, the court stamp and the illegal release of the suspects, he could not give any satisfactory answer.
He was arrested and handed over to the police for interrogation.
After investigation, he was charged to court for unlawful release of criminal suspects from prison with forged court documents.
The offences, according to the prosecutor Inspector Chidi Okoye, are punishable under Section 409, 363(3) and (u) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2004.
Count one reads: “That you Fashola Oladele and others (still at large) on 23 November 2011 at Lagos Magisterial District, did use fake reproduction warrant knowing same to be false to secure the release of Nuru Owolabi, Adigun Shoyinka and Gbenga Akinpelu who were in prison custody.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges but the prosecutor opposed the bail of the accused in view of the nature of offences committed.
He informed the magistrate that the offence committed by the accused is an affront to the judiciary, adding that the accused could be so audacious to forge the sacred documents of a court to release suspected criminals from prison.
She stated that there was the likelihood that if granted bail, he may jump bail and escape justice.
After listening, the presiding Chief Magistrate, Mrs. Adedayo ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody. She adjourned the matter till 12 March 2012 for mention.

Are Jessica Biel & Justin Timberlake Planning To Wed This Summer?

Last month, we learned that Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake got themselves engaged to be married (which was confirmed by JT‘s blabby grandmother). Today we HEAR that Jess and Justin are planning to be married this Summer. Now, of course, this information is not yet confirmed as true but considering how quickly things move in Hollywood, I don’t necessarily disbelieve any of this new information.

Don’t count on a long engagement for Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel. After nearly five on-and-off (and sometimes rocky!) years together, the recently engaged twosome plan to tie the knot later this year, an insider tells Us Weekly. “The big day’s this summer at a private estate,” an insider says of Timberlake, 31, who proposed to the actress, 31, in late December. What will the stunning bride wear to become Mrs. Timberlake? “Monique Lhuillier is her No. 1 choice for the dress,” the source reveals of the beloved designer, whose dresses have been worn by such A-list brides as Reese Witherspoon, Jessica Alba, Vanessa Minnillo and Shannen Doherty. In keeping with the couple’s uber-private M.O., it took Biel about six weeks to debut her engagement ring; she finally sported the rock (showing it off to Amy Poehler and Kristen Wiig!) at a Saturday Night Live afterparty at NYC’s Ristorante Asellina Feb. 18. “It wasn’t huge,” a witness says. “It looked vintage and might have been custom made.”

Thus far, Jessica‘s engagement ring has yet to be seen … but I can believe that she showed it off last weekend when Justin made his surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live. I can also believe that the couple are planning to say their I Dos sooner rather than later. I suspect we’ll be hearing more reports like this as the Winter months move into Spring and then Summer but … yeah, I can see these two happily hitched by year’s end. What do y’all think? Are Justica destined to be married this year?

Watch: Justin Bieber And Selena Gomez Goof Around In Home-Made Music Video

I came across the cutest home video today featuring Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez. An up-and-coming, but relatively unknown Canadian singer, Carly Rae Jepsen got a big dose of publicity when the two young starlets made a home music video of her single, “Call Me Maybe.” The fun vid also features Ashley Tisdale, her new boyfriend, Martin Johnson, Sammy Droke, “Kickin’ It” star Mateo Arias and Big Time Rush’s Logan Henderson, Kendall Schmidt and Carlos Pena. Once the home video hit YouTube, it was out there, and a new musician’s name! The song is really quite catchy and got picked up by Bieb’s manager after he made the video. It is also just super cute to see the gang goofing around and having a blast. Check out the new song and the troop’s little home video. Love it!

Carly Rae sure must have been stoked when she saw her celebrity “friends” enjoying her music. The song is definitely catchy and after I watched the video I couldn’t stop singing it! Carly has had some success in Canada, but on the whole she is pretty unknown. Now that it has some star powered backing, maybe it will actually rise up the charts. Apparently, Biebs heard her song on a Canadian radio station and thought it was great and now his manager, Scooter Braun, has signed her to his label, Schoolboy Records. So, in essence, Biebs and Selena can take credit for propelling Carly’s career.

Check out the fun video. Love it!

Pictures: Beyonce baby's first outing with parents.

Beautiful baby Blue Ivy has been on her first public outing with doting parents Beyoncé and Jay-Z. Spotted in New York, Beyoncé kept baby Blue firmly under wraps in a black blanket, while protective father Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, looked on. The couple had been dining at Sant Ambroeus café and espresso bar in the West Village, with a team of body guards, when they were photographed leaving the establishment.

Wearing a black hat, black sunglasses and leggings, Beyoncé looked relaxed and dressed down for the outing with her young family.

Singer Beyoncé and rapper husband Jay-Z surprised fans earlier this month, revealing photos of baby Blue on the internet. Rather than selling the first pictures of baby Blue, the couple decided to set up an internet blog with a note inviting fans to share in the couple's joy, signed "The Carter family."

Blue Ivy Carter was born on 7th January 2012, at Lennox Hill Hospital in New York. Just two days after baby Blue was born, proud parent Jay-Z released track Glory, a song dedicated to his new daughter featuring sound bites of the young star crying at the end of the track.

She might not know it yet but Blue has broken the record for the youngest person ever to be credited on the U.S singles chart.

YNaija Editorial: There's something D'banj needs to know...

"There are many examples of high-wattage celebrity that eventually find themselves done in by a misguided sense of their own immortality. The day eventually comes that they find themselves on stage and there are no cheering crowds. Then, it will dawn on them. But by then it will be too late..."
This is about the SaharaTV interview. Continue to read the full article...

Judging by the fact that the transcript of D’banj interview with SaharaReporters TV is still one of the most-read stories on this platform even one week after it happened, this continues to be a hot button topic for thousands of young Nigerians – as it should be.

No one – no matter how many bodyguards he has or how many hit albums to his credit – should be above being interrogated by his or her compatriots over the state of the common enterprise called Nigeria.

Now, there are those who have reacted with visceral, even uncommon, anger over what they refer to as Dbanj’s insensitivity and a seeming discontent with the Nigerian reality. And there is the visibly minority view, which insists that D’banj is only an entertainer and should be left alone.

Yes, it is a bit of a stretch to criticise D’banj for not joining the rallies in Lagos or London, or to insist that he must oppose the fuel subsidy removal policy. It is after all his fundamental right as a citizen to hold an opinion, even if – perhaps especially when – it is not the popular one.

But that is hardly the point. What D’banj did was essentially tell his interviewer that he had no concern on the subjects of poverty, fuel subsidy removal and the way the affairs of the country are managed – and in the most dismissive sense.

This is wrong for many reasons.

For one, the artiste has referred to himself as a youth ambassador. Of course, as people try to position themselves and their careers, titles like this are strategic to that advancement. However, they must also be ready for the responsibility that comes with that priviledge.

Even more to the point, there is an ironic contraction to D’banj’s latest stance that severely undermines his personal credibility. The singer has always been in his legal and moral rights to produce a song for any politician for a fee – as a business person, this is proper practice. However, in D’banj’s case, he has insisted that this was an endorsement based on belief and not a commercial venture.

This is where it gets tricky. How do you endorse a man out of concern for your nation a year ago and then suddenly be too busy to care about the most important matter concerning your nation, and brought about by that man, a year after?

For those who insist that D’banj is an entertainer and thus should not be burdened with these issues, that is the crux of the matter. He put himself out there.

Perhaps more disappointing than this lack of consistency, is the transparent arrogance in a young man whose success is created by the public, disdainful of the issues on the top of that public’s mind. It is impractical to expect Dban’j to have a Seun Kuti-like grasp of the complexities of cost of governance and fuel subsidy removal, but it is by no means out of order to expect him to show an awareness and sensitivity to those issues, at whatever level he understands them.

It is important for the famous and the influential to understand that patriotism and concern for one’s country is intrinsically linked to the entire concept of citizenship – active or not. You cannot be arrogantly disinterested in your country and still hope to profit from its progress.

D’banj is a talented young man with a superior grasp of his business and his musical brand. If anything, this is apparent from the sold out concert in New York immediately following the disastrous interview. But we certainly hope this is not an attitude he intends to keep up, just because the concert crowds are large, the music awards continue to stream in and the bank account is deservedly fat.

If that is in fact the case, then he would be sorely mistaken. There are many examples of high-wattage celebrity that eventually find themselves done in by a misguided sense of their own immortality.

The day eventually comes that they find themselves on stage and there are no cheering crowds. Then, it will dawn on them. But by then it will be too late.

You all have seen the photos, now let's talk about it. The fast rising singer went to Ghana yesterday to perform at a pageant. While in the country, he met 18 year Port Harcourt based Sonia Jumbo, who is studying in Ghana, they had sex and she took photos of him while he was sleeping and put them on the net.

DavidO said he was asleep when the photos were taken. I personally think it's extremely wrong to take compromising photos of someone when they are asleep and make it public. But it's more sad to me that she's only 18 and doesn't find anything wrong in what she did. Thoughts?

shocker: WTF: Drama in bank as woman bathes cashier with faeces in bank.

There was commotion at the Akure main branch of the
First Bank of Nigeria Plc on Friday afternoon when a
young lady, Miss Sade Babatunde, entered the bank with
a polythene bag full of faeces packaged in a can and
allegedly poured the content on a cashier who was
attending to customers.
According to reports, Babatunde, who came to Akure
from Owo town, went straight to the cashier, Miss
Agnes Olasehinde, and accused her of snatching her
husband in the presence of other bank workers and
customers inside the banking hall.
It was further learnt that Babatunde opened the
polythene bag and, before the security guards could
stop her, allegedly poured the entire content with its
offensive odour on Olasehinde who was neatly dressed
in native attire.
The development caused a pandemonium as everybody
inside the hall ran towards the electronically controlled
door to escape from the stench which had taken over
the entire hall.
Babatunde, according to sources within the bank, did
not stop at that as she allegedly held Olasehinde and
slapped her on the face severally.
Senior officials of the bank were said to have ordered
the security personnel attached to the branch to arrest
Babatunde while the cleaners took Olasehinde to the
toilet and washed her.
The management of the bank later provided a vehicle
that took Olasehinde home so that she could clean
herself properly and change her clothes.
An employee of the bank, who would not want his
name published, described the development as not only
an embarrassment to Olasehinde but also to the

Our correspondent however, gathered that the suspect
was not legally married to the man who she accused the
banker of snatching from her but that she already had a

It was further gathered that the man is a driver.

Amos Adamu loses FIFA ban Appeal.

Nigeria's former Fifa member Amos Adamu has lost his
appeal against a three-year ban over World Cup bid
The ruling from the court of arbitration for sport (Cas)
has confirmed the Fifa ban and even said that the
sanction was "relatively mild given the seriousness of
the offence".
Adamu was banned by Fifa's ethics committee following
a Sunday Times investigation when he was secretly
filmed by journalists, posing as lobbyists, asking for US
$800,000 (£504,000) to influence his vote for the
2018 World Cup.
Cas said in its ruling: "The Cas panel stressed that it
was of crucial importance that top football officials
should not only be honest but should evidently and
undoubtedly be seen to be honest.
"With respect to the behaviour of Dr Adamu, the Cas
panel was comfortably satisfied that he was far from
actively and unambiguously refusing the improper offer
set forth by the alleged lobbyists.
"In conclusion, the Cas arbitrators considered that the
sanction imposed by Fifa was not disproportionate and
was even relatively mild given the seriousness of the
It is the first time Cas has been called on to rule on a

Woman Dies After Fight With Husband Over Food

A native of Ishan in Edo State, Southwest Nigeria, Peter Odion, has been arrested by the police in Lagos State, for allegedly killing his wife, Mrs. Ifeoma Ohalele Odion, for eating his food.
The incident occurred at 2, Olushola Close, Abule Taylor, Abule Egba, Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria.
Narrating the incident that led to the death of his sister to P.M.NEWS, Chiweiko Ohalele, who claimed to be living with the couple before the tragic incident occurred, said: “I was in my village meeting on Sunday afternoon when one of our neighbours called me on phone to meet them at a hospital at Abule Egba over my sister’s condition.
“When I got there, I met my sister in an unconscious state with blood dripping from her head and face. In fact, she could not neither talk nor recognise me.
“I begged the doctor on duty to transfer her to the General Hospital at Ilepo because her condition was very bad. And he obliged.
“But before she could be attended to at the General Hospital, my sister died.
“When I confronted her husband, Peter Odion, who was also in the hospital on what transpired between him and my sister, he said he fought my sister for trying to eat the eba he made for himself.”
Chiweiko stated that Peter claimed that when they returned from church, he told his wife to prepare eba for him and her daughter, but she refused, claiming she had headache.
The husband, we gathered, went ahead and prepared the eba only for the wife to get up to eat the food.
A fight then broke out between the couple when Peter insisted his wife must not eat the food.
He further stated that during the fight, Peter pushed her and she hit her head on a hard object inside the room and fainted.
He raised an alarm and neighbours assisted him to rush the wife to the hospital.
“I did not intend to kill her because we have not had any disagreement before the tragic incident happened.
“I pray that God would forgive me,” Peter told Chiweiko.
P.M.NEWS gathered that the suspect was arrested in the hospital after doctors confirmed the wife dead.

Breaking news: Supreme Court sacks Kebbi Gov Dakingari

The Supreme Court on Friday nullified the election of Kebbi state Governor Usman Saidu Dakingari of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to conduct a fresh governorship election in the state within 90 days.

The decision of the court was premised on the failure of the Sokoto Division of the Court of Appeal which had earlier upturned the decision of the Kebbi state Election Petition Tribunal which also nullified the governor’s election.
The Court of Appeal while affirming the governor’s election delivered its judgment on 29 December 2011 but deferred the reason for its decision to 23 January, 2012, a day clearly out of the 60 days prescribed by section 285 (7) and (8) of the nation’s constitution as amended.

The court held that the Court of Appeal not being the final court in the determination of appeals arising from the conduct of governorship elections, lacked the power to deliver judgment and defer the reasons for its decision, more so, to a date which is outside the mandatory 60 days prescribed by Section 285 (7) of the Constitution.
According to Justice Walter Onnonghen who delivered the decision of the court, “it is obligatory for the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court to dispose an appeal within 60 days from the date of the decision being appealed. Section 285 (7) implies that both the decision and the reasons for that decisions must be completed within the stipulated time. Any decision without a reason is no decision at all. The judiciary has no option than to work within the time frame provided by the law.”

Crazy: This Couple Has Sex While Skydiving!18+ advised.

Two residents of Bakersfield, CA caused quite a stir last week when they performed the world’s first-ever act of mid-skydive coitus (that we know of).

"The Federal Aviation Administration has stated that it is looking into a videotaped skydiving sex stunt to determine if the pilot might have been distracted during the incident over Kern County, which would violate federal aviation safety regulations.".

When porn star and weekend skydiving instructor Alex Torres (a.k.a Voodoo) decided to film himself and Skydive Taft receptionist Hope Howell doing the deed at thousands of feet above ground, it seemed like they had covered all the bases.

The video, reportedly, shows the couple starting the, uh, “process” in the jump seat on the plane, right next to the remarkably professional and undistracted pilot. Then, of course, the video shows the two jumping in tandem and continuing the act in mid-air. Torres originally posted the video on his blog, but ultimately took it down when the investigation started.

The video apparently started making the rounds at a local highschool, at which point the local police approached Dave Chrouch, the owner of Skydive Taft. Lucky for Torres, the plan to film early in the morning paid off. No criminal charges are pending considering that no one was around to actually complain about seeing the act being performed live, therefore, no public indency issues.

Australian woman scams Nigerian scammers

An Australian woman has been convicted for defrauding Nigerian fraudsters of $30,000, reports The Sideshow.
The Courier-Mail reports that Sarah Jane Cochrane-Ramsey (23) was employed as an “agent” in March 2010 by the Nigerians, but did not know they were scam artists.
Her job was to provide access to an Australian bank account opened in her name, where the Nigerians could transfer money they received from a phony car sales website.
Cochrane-Ramsey was told she could keep eight per cent of the transfers.
But, then, she decided to steal from the “thieves”.
According to the Courier-Mail, she received two payments, totalling $33,350, but spent most of it on herself.
The real victims, who thought they were buying cars online, reported the scam to the police, who traced the account back to Cochrane-Ramsey.
She appeared before the Brisbane District Court and pleaded guilty to the one-count charge of aggravated fraud.
For now, the Judge is allowing Cochrane-Ramsey time to come up with the money to pay-off the victims, while she awaits sentencing in March.
Interestingly, Cochrane-Ramsey is not the first person to turn the tables on Nigerian scammers.

wow: Nigeria's Dbanj Featured In New York Times Magazine

African’s and Nigerian top reigning pop star, Dbanj has be featured on the New York Times Magazine.

Sure Dbanj is flying now.

There was talk of kokolets all Sunday night at Irving Plaza. D'Banj, the Nigerian pop star who was headlining the show, boasted, "I have too many kokolets around the world." Later on he wondered, "Can I get two kokolets that can dance better than my dancers?"

If it seemed like D'Banj, one of the quickest-rising stars in Africa, has a one-track mind - kokolets, in his lingo, are beautiful women - that wasn't far from the truth. As a style, his was as monomaniacal in focus as Miami bass, one lusty come-on after the next.

He is at the forefront of an emergent style loosely called Afrobeats by some, a mélange of hip-hop, R&B and other traditionally urban sounds with elements that hark back to older African styles.

In practice on Sunday all that meant was that D'Banj, backed by a live band, was a thoroughly accessible pop star. He emerged in a gold-sequined dinner jacket and began the night with a harmonica solo of "My Love Is Your Love," the austere Whitney Houston hit. Before long he was undulating around the stage, his microphone at his crotch when it wasn't at his mouth.

Switching back and forth between singing and rapping, primarily in English, D'Banj was never less than enthusiastic, an entertainer above all, and one used to much larger stages than this one.

Accordingly, the show had the feeling of a significant event. The crowd was slickly dressed, skewing young and African. Outside before the show a correspondent for the Lagos radio station Cool 96.9 FM was recording a report on the scene.

Along with the producer Don Jazzy, D'Banj recently signed to Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music label, a rare example of a mainstream contemporary African star being given an opportunity to work with an American record label. Mr. West recently performed with D'Banj in London.
